In Huckleberry Finn, what was Twain satirizing in the Wilk's funeral scene?

  1. He is satirizing the whole funeral process.  There is a dog barking, and everyone turns around to see why - instead of focusing on the funeral procession.  All of these mundane things happen during the funeral, and everyone redirects their attention to them.  Twain is expressing that he finds the whole funeral process (and perhaps even the idea of death) to be somewhat absurd.
