I have an assignment that I have to cook a dish and bring it into a class. The dish has to be from Ralph Waldo Emerson's life. He lived from 1803 to 1882 in Massachusetts. This dish does not have to be complex. I am a 9th grader and other 9th graders will be eating this. It needs to be something easy that I can fix the night before. Thanks for all the help. ♥

    French's

2 slices bacon, halved and cooked halfway

through in the microwzve, if desired(optional)

Mix beans, brown sugar, onion, and mustard well. Pour into a baking dish (1 1/2 qt. pyrex dish). Top with halved slices of partially cooked bacon, if desired. Bake for 45 minutes at 325 - 350 degrees F. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. This gives the sauce a chance to cool and thicken a bit before serving.
