    Direct confrontations wise, I wouldn't say there were any.

    Events affecting both countries though... there's a bigger list

    Stuff like

    Just some stuff to get you started there....

    As for the Cold War, it factually ended in the early 1900's when the USSR just couldn't keep with the US anymore, facing heavy doubt and a crumbling government (which is why they're democratic now). However, it seems like another Cold War could be brewing with the Georgia crisis in eastern Europe at the moment...]
