An unpopular autocratic ruler managed to use a foreign war to distract the population.

And Argentinian General Galtieri invaded the Falklands, the war serving essentially the same purpose for both leaders.

Once again British squaddies rose to saving the day, following political incompetence or exploitation.

It was familiar in Kipling's day, it's familiar today.

The Torries were just starting to put their plan to destroy the working class man into action, shutting down coal mines and putting people out of work and of course all in working class areas of Britain, also the Falklands war where Margaret Thatcher gave the order to blow up a ship outside a military exclusion zone, murdering over 300 sailors.

Maggie Thatcher was busy destroying everything in sight... closing the Collaries with thousands being put on the dole... destroying the value of the Pound Sterling... creating a mess that Brits are still living with 25 years later... She DID get the Chunnel started, though.
