  1. well the power went off at exactly 10:50 that Thursday night, I remember cause the ending of ER was coming up and we missed it.  I went to bed and woke up to chaos.  the street covered in tree limbs, basement flooded, the house was freezing.  we basically spent the whole day cleaning up and trying to un-flood the basement.  my aunt was nice enough to take us to her house.  she lives in Boston, just a short ride down the thruway from where we live.  I was stunned to find out that they had no snow!!!  the guy across the street was mowing his lawn with an electric corded lawn mower.  I spent 5 days there, living the good life, telling all my friends the scores of the Sabres and Bills games.  no school was awesome too.  went back home, spent two days cleaning up tree limbs.  and the power finally kicked back on after 7 and a half days.

  2. We are north of Lockport, and we didn't get anything. They did close schools, because the teachers couldn't make it in. But we didn't lose power, in fact all of my husband's family was coming up here to shower & do laundry.

  3. It sucked because the power went out while I was watching the Sabres- WIngs game on TV. Me and my stepdad went to every store around us to try and get batteries so I could listen to the game on the radio and every place was completely sold out. I wound up getting some batteries from a family member and listened to the game at home with tree branches cracking and falling to the ground in the background. I remember looking outside and the tree branches were bent over and touching the ground because of all the snow(I wish I took a picture of it). I woke up the next day and branches covered every square inch of my backyard, and the power was out(the power was out until sunday). I had friday, monday, and tuesday off of school. There are still broken branches that are stuck in the tops of trees so I'm constantly reminded of it.

  4. I lucked out because half of my street lost power, but we didn't.  So, no work and we just got to stay home all day watching tv and eating snacks.  It was fun for us...but then when I returned to work I heard all of my co-worker's horror stories and felt guilty about having so much fun!
