What was life really like on a 1680s pirate ship?

Or a late 17th-early 18th ship. A pirates life at sea in general.

  1. Not private...they had holes 2 ft  by about 2 ft to p**p in 2 ft from the other guy. Not for me.

  4. Probably very cramped, ships were quite small in those days compared to today's ships.

    And there would be a shortage of fresh food, especially when they had been at sea for some time, and there would be the worry of running out of water, especially if there had been no rain.

    Pirate captains seem to have mostly been quite vicious, and might very likely throw you overboard or keelhaul you or do something else nasty to you, if you had the misfortune to get on his wrong side.
