What was one of the recent security breaches recently reported on the news?

About a month or two ago, there was a big security breach that was reported on the news and the potential for identity theft. I can't remember what company/organization it was. I remember thinking I might have been affected, but didn't follow up. But now I found out someone got my SSN somehow and I wonder if that's how it happened since I shred everything.

Information lost in a security breach is very rarely used by identity thieves.  The most common source is lost/stolen wallets.  Generally people know who did it.
