What was outside?

i live on this big hill and there is a pizza place across the srteet down at the bottom so i had to get the number so i had to go all the way down the hill when i came back up there was no one outside there was nothing out there i heard this loud noise that sounded like it was right next to me it sounded like glass breaking [ it was at night time it was next to the woods] what was it

It could have been anything,but I think it was just you stepping on the glass.

could be anything, it would be more helpful if i knew where you lived so i could tell you what kinds of animals could possibly make that sound.   if it was at night and out twards the woods it could have very possibly been a owl or something of that sort.  

it's pretty hard for glass to break out in the woods where everything is soft and not hard enough to break glass
