What was paris like in the 1640s?

Many things would be different, not the least of which would be the absence of many familiar sights. Sacre Coeur, The Arc de Triomphe, the Musee D'Orsay, the Place de la Concorde, and the Eiffel Tour, among others,  would not be there.

Other buildings would be present that have since vanished. The Bastille for one and the Tuileries Palace for another.

The Grandes Boulevards had not yet cleared their way thru the city (that was done by order of Napoleon III) and been built and the city was a total rabbit's warren of medieval streets.
