  1. Giving birth to  Mary 1?  Marrying Henry VIII?  I give up.  You'd do much better to google this info.

  2. Queen Catherine Of Aragon was going to marry King Henry Vlll's brother, but he died leaving her alone in England a widow.

Then King Henry Vlll (as he was by then) noticed her and married her.

A tragic thing about Catherine was she never had a son (she did get a daughter, Mary l) and so King Henry Vlll got tired of her, but couldn't divorce her. (Later, he had that changed.)

So she died in exile, away from her daughter since the King gave the orders that they were not allowed to correspond or see each other.

    -Selina

  3. Catherine of Aragon was born to King Ferdinand II of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castile.  She was betrothed then married to Arthur, the Prince of Wales, who died about five months later, leaving Catherine a young widow, and as she claimed, still a virgin.

She stayed in England, and after Henry VII died, the new king Henry VIII married her in 1509.  She had a few prenancies but only a surviving daughter (Mary, later to become Mary I) after about 18 years of marriage.  It was then in 1527 that Henry first asked the Pope Clement VII to annul the marriage, which was never granted.  After years of trying to go through Rome to annul the marriage, Henry eventually in 1533, without the approval of the Catholic Church married Anne Boleyn and divorced Catherine later the same year.  All of this in hopes of getting a male heir for the throne.

Anne Boleyn, in turn, for failing to produce a son, was executed on trumped up charges of incest and adultry, among other things, in 1536.

  4. Queen Catherine was the victim of King Henry VIII of England's many "escapades." She was England's very first Queen ever to be divorced before the break from Rome. Catherine was the only one of Henry's wives who lived to see her 50th birthday.

Catherine has long had her admirers for the bravery and courage she displayed in contesting her divorce and fighting for her daughter's rights. She became a symbolic representation of the wronged woman.
