What was that food that Ray Mears spoke about on Wild Food?

I saw an episode of Ray Mears' Wild Food earlier and he spoke about a worm type creature that lives under the seabed.

To get one he poured salt on the ground at a very low tide. Quickly a strange worm like creature that was described as "very meaty" jumped out of the ground.

Any ideas?

I would say it was Australonuphis Teres (australian beach worm)...

They make for fine bait also... ;)

did you catch a glimpse at it on the TV ?? what was it looking like ?
