What was that impossible test they used to give to the immigrants to trick them?

i don't remember what it was but it was like some test with impossible answers and if the immigrants didn't pass the test, they wouldn't be allowed to go to america or something......

anyone know what i'm talking about?

  1. I think it was called a citizinship test, it was used to test immagrants on the American history. My teacher gave it to me to test us on US history. The funny thing about this test though is that immagrants probably know more of the answers then regular US citizins, since they have to study do hard for it.

  3. Wow, "shesmyn," you might want to check your spelling as well as your information.  They do not give you a citizenship test when you first arrive in the country.  There are residency requirements and an entire process, leading up to studying for and taking the test.

    I don't think they gave any such "trick" test to immigrants.  You might be thinking of "literacy tests" they gave to black voters in the South in the old days to try to keep them from being able to vote.  Those tests were impossible, and they were illegal.
