The word 'kruk' ('stool' in English) only appeared for the first time in the Dutch language around 1839. I'm pretty sure people already sat on 'krukjes' before 1839, but I can't find the word for those 'things you sit on without armrests etc' anywhere. Can anybody help me on this matter?

  1. A lot of modern Dutch words are the same as old Dutch. The most differences are with spelling. It was probably the same, I tried wiktionary but I couldn't find much.
