They were among the confederates attacking the entrenched Muslims of the Prophet Mohamed. The siege lasted 2 weeks. The Banu Quraizah attacking from the south, the Banu Nadir and Quraysh from the north  Eventually the Confederates entered into negotiations (inconclusively) and Banu Quraizah surrendered and the men were beheaded and the women and children were enslaved. Muhammad attempted to hide his knowledge of the activities of Banu Qurayza; however, rumor soon spread of a massive assault on the city of Medina from Qurayza's side designed to capture the defenders' families which severely demoralized the Medinans. The Battle of Khaybar resulted in the Muslims killing all the men of the Banu Quraizah and divided the women among themselves.
