Question:

What was the alternative reasons for the first gulf war?

obviously the west was using Saddam to bash the Iranians and whatever else, so why go against him otherwise? had he served his purpose?

  1. iraq wanted to raise petroleum prices.....america supported kuwait to go against iraq....iraq attacked kuwait....america took this reason to attack iraq......thats what i know


  2. are you asking for someone to help you invent a new conspiracy theory...? why do we do such things? shouldn't you have some first hand knowledge of a specific ill before trying to prove it in it's absence.

  3. As most wars, territorial dispute. Iraq and Kuwaiti disagreed on land boundaries.


  4. When Saddam entered Kuwait, it spelled disaster for the world's oil reserves. He would not have stopped there, eventually he would have entered Saudi Arabia. We entered Kuwait through Saudi Arabia to push his forces back in to Iraq. We didn't attack Iraq, we merely pushed his republican guard back to Baghdad then we left. There was much more at stake than what Saddam was doing in Iran.
