    I'm not sure what's the average weight now, but I can be pretty sure that it used to be far less than it is now.

  5. Well I know during the Civil War the average man was 5 foot 7 and 145 pounds and probably an educated guess for 1900 would be 5 foot 9 and maybe 160 pounds
