In London I would have thought it was the Nottinghill Carnival. For me it was spending the day in Epping very peaceful, very calm and very nice.

The opening of the world Firefighter games at the Echo arena in Liverpool was brilliant. The athletes were great and out to have a good time, the organisation and stewarding perfect and the opening ceremony was a surprise and sheer delight. All free too!

I will definitely be taking my family along to support the firefighters from all over the world competing in this friendly event over the next 10 days.

The Leeds and Reading festival.

I saw it on TV, saw Pete Doherty, The Killers, I was happy.

I had tickets and saw REM and Editors at LCC, but I would have preferred the festival.

I was in town (Manchester) during some of our g*y Pride, would still have preferred the festival.

Thats how I know.
