  7. This year, the party game that received the most mileage was Wits and Wagers.  I think I ended up playing 6-7 times over the last week.

The idea of the game is simple, but engaging for all players, and everyone has a good shot at doing well.  Basically, the game has question and answer cards, where all of the answers are numbers, some numbers that some people would know, but a lot of numbers that people would likely guess at (e.g. What percent of M&Ms in a package are blue?  Or How many years does it take Pluto to revolve around the sun?).  Everyone writes down their answer on small dry-erase boards, and reveal simultaneously.  The answers go onto the play board from lowest-to-highest, which has an odds chart alongside (e.g. 1-to-1, 2-to-1, 3-to-1).  Then, players place bets on the answers betting which is the closest to the correct answer without going over (like the 'Price is Right').  When the answer is revealed, the player who put down the correct answer receives a bonus, and players who bet on that answer get paid out on what the odds were for that answer.  Over the course of the first six rounds players are limited in their bets, but in the final round players can bet as much as they like ('go all in').  The winner is the person with the most money at the end of the seventh round.

Wits and Wagers is great fun, and playable by a wide variety of people.  The game is designed for 3-7 players, though I find that it works better the closer to 7 players one has. Wits and Wagers was recently picked up by Target retail outlets for their game departments, so you should be able to find a copy there.

  10. I just submitted a question on my favorite game, because it's so addictive i wanted to know if anyone else was enjoying it.

We got LIFE: twists and turns

cannot stop playing it.  set it for 50 years! long game that was!

i was going to by cadoo(?) for my son for xmas, but i nevered..that's like cranium isn't it? wish i had now.

I started out as a strawberry picker getting around on a skateboard, and probably sleeping on it too, as houses are expensive...

then i moved up to homemaker, and got a car, (so i could at least sleep in that)

then i got another promotion and made $80/yr as a clown!  I must have been ronald mcdonald.  I then decided a clown needs a mansion...

but then the clown "found religion" and became a tv minister, making $2 mil/yr.  woop woop.

But preaching on tv, just wasn't for me, so I switched over to becomming a supermodel.  That was fine, until i met mr. right, got married and had several kids.  I don't know how I kept my figure.

I had something like $70 mil dollars, and a ton of lifepts (i kept going on awesome adventures).

all of this i never needed a degree/phd, but i earned one anyway.  all the high paying jobs never needed one..(just like rl, lol)

so can't wait til son wakes up, so we can start another round,.

ps: he was an attorney general (500k/yr?) i think and had to walk dogs part time...

then he was a crown prosecutor, and ended up having to do landscaping on the side..

i asked him what habit he was trying to pay for, but i got no answer...hmm..

maybe i should check his room...

    lol

    he's 11
