  1. 19.00 dollars, and we have been married going on 21 years, I think we got out moneys worth. Its not the money, its whats in the heart.

  2. $35k. We spent most of it on food and the band.

  3. His parents are giving us 10K and my parents are buying my dress, my BM's dresses, and the cake.

  4. 35-40k

I think was a waste, cuz my marriage turned out to be very unsuccessful.

Given the sky touching rate of divorce, people should have simple weddings and if it works out good have a big wedding reception/party on 1 year or 2 year wedding anniversary.

  5. We spent roughly 2500 this didn't include the rings or honeymoon.

  6. $20,000 - which is about double what I wanted, because it's just one day, but my fiance wanted a big, formal sit down dinner, and I am not as picky, so we're doing it his way.

We are actually having the reception and ceremony at the most beautiful place.  It's very historic, and a bunch of people said we should check it out "just for fun" because it's pretty fancy (i.e. pricey).  But because we are having our wedding at an off-peak time they are giving us a great price so we are still within budget.

I have two things I want for my wedding day, that MUST happen or I will be an unhappy bride: To get married to my fiance and to not go over budget.  That's about it!

We will be providing about $10,000 of our budget, saved monthly in a high interest account over the next year.  His parents are contributing $5000 plus paying for things that they want on top of our planning (that are not in the budget) like extra limos because we aren't having one (everything is at one site but they want to leave in one).  My parents are contributing $3000 cash and then my mom is making my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses and paying for the materials.  And my parents are paying their pastor to do the ceremony because it's who they wanted to do it. Which should round out the other $2000 of expenses on the list.

So far we ware a bit under budget, knock on wood it stays that way, but I'm really good with planning and budgeting and getting good deals so I'm sure it will.

  7. 10,000. I'm so far under budget by almost 2,000! This includes the dress, wedding bands, no honeymoon for 100guests with a spectacular buffet :)

  8. As of today, 30k. I gave 10k, my fiance 12k, and my FIL 8k

  9. We're getting married in December. So far, unless we need to bump it up, we have set a 50,000 budget. My parent's are paying for half, and his the other half.

That does not include our rings or our honeymoon. Those we had to pay for.

I know it may seem like a bit much, but we both have really big families, that both have money to spare. But we're really lucky. If our parents hadn't paid for it, we would probably be spending about 10,000 at the most

  10. We tried to stay under $5000 and as of yesterday it's at $3800 and that includes everything except the honeymoon because that was a gift to us.

  11. $30k from my mom, my dad is hiring the photographer, cars and paying for the flowers (they are divorced and worked it out on their own lol). He said about $8 to $10k would be fine. My fiance's parents are handling the alcohol and bartenders at $5k.

I guess that's about $45k. We're paying for our honeymoon and rings, around $7000.

  12. We spent 5,000. That is everything dress, rings, food, 7 airline tickets, beer, vodka, flowers, tents, and all the little stuff. We had some help.

  13. A total of $12,000 from us and our parents, and that included our honeymoon.

  14. 12000 from my parents, and whatever else we had to pick up. (about 1000 worth)

  15. my wedding was around 70K

but i think it iwas worth it   we had the money to spend,  and the day came out perfectly.  not one thing went wrong, and with all the extra help that we had we did not have to worry about one thing other than having fun.

it was expensive  but then again that is what you get for getting married in Manhattan

  16. Originally I was thinking around 15K but I have been cutting costs by doing many DIY things so I think it will only be like 8K or 9K.

  17. We just got married less than a month ago and only spent $1200. I used the resources around me 1st. A friend of mine works at an awesome bakery, my wedding planner is a member of my church. So my suggestion is to ask around before you seek vendors, however it also depends on the venue, some prefer for you to use their approved vendors.

  18. Too d**n much

  19. My mister and I are getting married September 19, 2009 with an English Garden (albeit offbeat since we're personalizing it to reflect our personalities rather than being strict with it) theme. We have 200+ guests invited, and a 15 person wedding party for $5,000. Our bywords are elegant, beautiful, and unique, something we're accomplishing without breaking the bank.
