  9. 5 those terrible kindergarding days

  10. The earliest memory that I can actually come close to placing in time, was when I was living with my maternal grandmother, great grandmother and great great aunt in Tampa, Florida.

Someone came over to visit my grandmother and brought a little boy with them.  I vaguely recall thinking I was so much more mature and grown-up because he was only 2 years old and I was 3.

I lived there with them from some point in infancy up to the age of five, and I can remember quite a bit about my life there, in general, but cannot remember exactly when (or in what chronological order), during that period, individual events occurred.  I remember workmen coming and putting up a fence all around the back yard.  I remember swinging on the roots of the banyan tree in the front yard.  A favorite memory was of riding across a long bridge called the "Davis island Causeway" at night in the back seat of my grandmother's convertible and thoroughly enjoying the summer night breeze and the reflections of the lights in the water all around us. I remember my mother coming to visit, getting mean and angry and pulling my hair when my grandmother was out of the house.  I remember she and my father having a dog named "Pepper"  that was called a wire-haired terrier.  To them, Pepper was a little dog, but to me, he was waist-high and I was scared of him.

There are a zillion of these memories from that period of my life, but I cannot place any of them accurately on the timeline except that one - because it involved me thinking about my age.

  11. I think the earliest memory I have is when I was 7, but it is incredibly fuzzy. I don't really remember much from the first 13ish years of my life. That's not really normal though. Most people I know remember when they were 2-4 and remember a lot vividly.

If I may ask... are you curious just for curiosities sake or are you wondering if your memory recall is average?

  19. I remember thinking, You aren't keeping me away from my Dad!  He walked in later and I was calling out, Daddy!  He came and got me like always!
