What was the ethnic origin of the Ancient Egyptians?

By the appearance of sarcophigus they didn't have ***** features, they certainly weren't europeans, looked more asian. Saw two sarcophigi of brothers in Manchester Meuseum (love Manchester) and one was obviously African but the other brother was not. The accompanying information pointed this out. But where did the original Egyptians come from. I'm guessing they were from the middle east.

Hamitic. They were Caucasoid.

All Egyptians did not look alike because they were not all racially the same. Egyptians were mixtures between Caucasians, black Africans, and Asians just like they are today. This is the reason why you see some some depictions of Egyptians with light skin and some with dark etc.
