  1. The prototype J35 Draken flew in 1955.  Since that time over 600 aircraft were produced (including 12 in Finland).  It also saw service in Austria and Denmark (the only NATO country to operate the aircraft.  It was finally withdrawn from Swedish  service around  1996.
