Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport in America. In the world, no one really knows, but the Mayas could probably have been the first ones to developed games. They created the Pitz, and also some games that the looser was killed for the gods.

Physical competition is such a basic idea that I'm sure it predates civilization. The first sport was probably played long before anyone could have recorded the event. I'd guess it was some sort of fight or footrace.
