  1. My 1984 F-150 p/u had 198,000 miles on when I sold it in 1999 for a new F-150. That truck had the 300 cid six banger engine in it with a 4 speed manual trans. I never had one repair on that engine except for tune-ups. I sold it to a painter friend of mine, and he used it for another 5 yrs before he sold it. I've lost track of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was still running.

    That was my first car also, was a Ford Escort.

  3. 178,000 mi    2000 Honda civic it is starting to burn a little bit of oil but it is a great little car. it gets about 36 mpg hwy.


  4. so far my fiat marea weekend 2.4jtd has 178,000 miles on it and it still goes like a dream, and im getting 65mpg!

    good old diesels.... last forever!

  6. In the past I have not paid that much attention to  the mileage. I do now, I drive  an American made car, and currently get 20. MPG and when driving 30 MPH in the right lane, the best  mileage I get is 21. MPG

  8. My 1979 Ford Fairmont station wagon, it had over 400,000 miles when I sold it to my wife's young cousin, she had it about two weeks before she wrecked and totaled it.

    My current vehicles 1996 GMC Savanna has 226,000 miles

    and a 1996 Buick Regal Custom 179,650 miles, are still going strong. The engines are original. I'm not selling either of them to my wife's cousin.

  9. 1968 Mercedes Benz 220 Diesel/Manual Transmission. 493,000 actual miles when engine head gasket blew. I have records back to the day this car was delivered. I was the second owner.

    I reached this milestone on December 6th 2001. My the loyal Benz rest in peace!

  10. it was over 175,000 on a mercury sable.

    My dad is currently driving with over 200,000 on a ford explorer and has previously had over 300,000 on an Oldsmobile Delta 88.  

    All of the above were the original engines, just maintained.
