Looking for young adult books to read. I'm 13 and going into 8th grade.

I've read the Twilight saga, just to clear that up. Otherwise that is the only answer I'd get! : )

And why do you like the book you are recommending?

NO SPOILERS, PLEASE!

  1. I cant remember lol realy

  2. The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky A very real life account of being a teenager.

Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs is really good. I know you more than likely already know the story or have saw the movie, but the book is way good.

Eragon and Eldest are good by Christopher Paolini. Those are dragon lore books.

The hobbit by Tolkien way awesome.

When the Wind Blows by James Patterson. Its his best book ever, not his usual. Very neat in a wow kinda way.

I could go on and on, really you should just send me an e-mail when you are in need of a recommendation.

  3. Try a certain slant of light by laura whitcomb and sight by a.m. vrettos

  4. The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein was absolutely brilliant!

  5. The Audactiy of Hope by Barack Obama

It gives a real calm feeling knowing that the country could be led by such a strong, caring individual.

  6. Tanith Lee's book Delirium's Mistress. I enjoy Lee for her poetic style and weird, intriguing characters. You might enjoy her Night's Master or The Silver Metal Lover.

Currently reading John Crowley's Daemonomania, although I wouldn't recommend that to someone at 13...

  7. sarah dessen books are really good, and nicholas sparks ("the notebook" and "a walk to remember") is pretty good too. many girls also like meg cabot's books.

  8. The last book I read, and just finished  2 days ago was The Pawprints of Katrina by Cathy Scott.  It is non-fiction and about the rescue volunteers who went to the New Orleans area to save the pets who lost their homes and in some cases their families to Hurricane Katrina.  Many people were forced to evacuate and were not permiitted to take their animals, and this book is about the efforts to rescue and reunite as many pets with their owners as they could, or else otherwise find them new forever homes. it was good.  Something that an 8th grader should be able to grasp.

  9. The last back I read was Mary Had A Little Lamb

    And I enjoyed it.

  10. do you have a preference at all? Do you like mystery? or fiction? or non fiction? Sorry to be a pain!

I recommend "The Truth About Forever" by Sarah Dessen. I think it is good for your age.

  11. uhh, tuesday's with morrie? Thats what the last book i read

  12. I would highly recommend the following books/series; all were read by my son (your age) in the last couple years, and he enjoyed them so much I read them as well, and thoroughly enjoyed them all. They are all Young Adult books, great action, good themes, fun & interesting characters, etcetera etcetera.

    - Eion Colfer's Artemis Fowl series (6 books?)

    - James Patterson's Maximum Ride series (4 books now, #5 coming out next spring I think)

    - Terry Windling's Borderland series (multiple authors contributed, do a Wikipedia search for Borderland)

While I never read them, my son also really enjoyed the "Left Behind" series, can't recall who wrote them though.
