  3. Great Leighs has just opened its doors on sunday down in Essex. It was due to open in 2006 mind you.

    It's the first new racecourse in 81 years. From what I read in the racingpost on monday, it's a fantastic all-weather track, floodlit n'all. Unfortunately I wasn't working on sunday and missed its first day!

    I read that some 45 racecourses have closed since Taunton opened in 1927.. geesh

    I think its on tomorrow (thursday).. if you wunna see it in action :)

  4. I am sure there is a newer one but Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie TX was opened in 1997.

    It is a beautiful park.

  7. Great Leighs has just been built in Essex but although there have been practice runs it has not yet held an official meeting yet.
