What was the mass of the earth during the Jurassic period and what is it now?

  1. The point of your question is not that you think it would heavier due to there being lots of dinosaurs running around, is it?  Jeez I hope not, otherwise I’d have to add your question to my list of the most stupid.

    But why would you think there is much difference?


  2. The last time it was computed it was 6.588 sextillion tons, I think. It was not computed during the Jurassic period, but the Earth has not gained or lost much since then. Meteors do hit the earth, but most burn up, and a million one pound ones would only be 500 tons.

    When you are talking about sextillion tons of mass, a million tons is almost insignificant.

  3. the same, unless somehow chunks of the earth broke off and flew into space between that period and now.
