  1. When we were totally broke. My father's dialysis has to be maintained at least once a week and my mother had undergone general hysterectomy. I was so down at that time, I dunno what to do. That's when I finally humbled myself and ask help from my aunts and lola who, unfortunately at that time, we were not in good terms with. That was really humbling, asking help from persons you are not in good terms with.

But then, it only proves one thing, family will always be family... through it all!

  2. don't sleep with hookers.

  3. As of now I'm a graduating college student so... Maybe the time I failed on my majors and I've got to enroll again for that particular subject. Its a waste of time and money...

  4. don't put a "sili" in your nose... always listen to the elders...

  5. Honestly? Years ago, when my dad got arrested for beating me a month after my mom was filing for their divorce, he had to move out because of the restraining order SOOOO, my mom signed me over to foster care and he moved back in with her last words to me being "If I had to choose between you and your father, I choose your father"

From that experience I learned that *Even your mother can s***w you over.

  6. At one time I was VERY full of myself.....I considered myself to be smarter than just about anyone....

FOR EXAMPLE: I noted the similarity of the atom to the solar system.... I thought would it not be neat if the solar system were just an atom in another world..... maybe we are just a small part of another huge world.... I patted myself on the back for my brilliance

Years later I discovered a science fiction story based on that same premise ......written TWO YEARS before I was born..... the only thing brilliant was my ego.....

We are all geniuses and idiots.....just depends on the subject

Never underestimate others..... they probably ARE smarter than you.... at least on some subjects.....learn to listen......you will be smarter and better liked

  7. Nobody's perfect. When my Father did something sooo bad i thought before, that i cannot forgive him but i see how he care too much of us and didn't forget his responsibility as a Father then i realize even we are far or hundred miles away doesn't matter, It is not about living together we called a Family but how strength we are and only 3years before we'll meet again still the great bondness, love and care is the most important in the Family.

  8. Thoughtout my life and even today. Reading certain sciptures from the bible keeps me well grounded.

I can recall a time when I was about 6 or 7 years old, I made in fun of mental retarded kids when I saw them. I laughed at them really hard. Mother witnessed my behavior and gave me and ear full of lectures that made me feel so bad about laughing at people of that condition.

She help me realize that God has his special people close to his heart. I was told that laughing them is like laughing at God who gave me what I have today. Never again was it funny to laugh at people with disabilities. Today I don't think its funny to hear any comdian  make jokes about these kind of people.

  9. When I traveled alone for my whole trip from Manila to London via Hong Kong...hmm, i know it wont be that interesting but it helped me to be more mature since I'm only 15 when i traveled alone, it did help me discover the world and what's it like being alone and traveling without my parents. And it did help me to prove it to my dad that I can do it without him around.  I also learn how to stand up for myself and to be very independent

  10. I lived in Romblon for almost a year when I was in High school.

I ate Lugaw for 2 weeks straight. (Lugaw meaning rice with salt & water.)

I had P500 to spend for 2 mos (there were no atm's there then, sending money was a challenge)

I learned to eat whatsoever fish caught in the river the size of my pinky.

Walked from school for 2 hrs in rough terrain(bonus pa if may rain.hehe).

Woke up around 4am just to fetch water.

NO TV. just listened to Gabi ng lagim every 8pm WED.haha!

*I've never cried once even if i was so hungry i didn't have baon & spent time alone during breaks inside the classroom. I learned the value of money. The value of friends & family. I appreciate everything now. And the power of PRAYER. It gets you through everything :)
