  1. The communists wanted to take over the world and the democratic nations like the UK and USA were opposed to that. Thanks to traitors within the USA, the communists in the USSR learnt how to make atomic weapons and there was a big stand off between the two sides, neither wanting to go to war with each other for fear of starting a nuclear holocaust.

    So I guess nuclear weapons is the answer you need, their destructive power ensured that war between the commies and the free world did not happen.


  2. Cuba became a  leftist puppet Banana Republic after the end of the Cold War.

  3. Distrust. Stalin had shown he or his policies could not be trusted.
