I know that the first half amphibian half fish was the Ichthyostega but I was wondering what was the very first full amphibian? I know that it appeared during the Carboniferous period...

It wasn't Sylvester, it was Wilbur, his older brother.

The Crossopterygii are the ancestors of the amphibians. They evolved in the Devonian.
