  1. I don't think it was the song that was played as the players came onto the field, but one of the songs I heard a number of times was an old German song called "Griechischer Wein" by Udo Jürgens:

    As it was one of my favourite naff German songs from my many drunken nights whilst living there 10 years ago, I just loved hearing it 'live' again!

    Have still got the highlights of the final on Sky+ so will try and watch and report back!

    EDIT: Having had a bit of a mooch around other questions around here and having listened to "L'hymne de la Peña Baiona" on the following site, it certainly sounds as though the tune is the same in this song:

    All I can say is that I spoke to one of the people with the band last Saturday (although not one of the band members as they were busy playing!) who was only aware of the German version.
