What was the old fashioned coats they wore that were called MINK ?

I love lucy show they wore them and it looked like a wierd coat with the WHOLE entire aminal ??

Minks are not big.  They are smaller than a normal cat, but breed for the pelts (skin).  There are mink farms up north, just like cattle farms.  They are not hunted, but bred-not anymore, tho.  They look like big rats with a long fuzzy tail.
