    then peugeot made some cars ..
    BUT the first car company that
    started mass producing was oldsmobile.
    NOW ford came 6 years after oldsmobile,
    so it is the oldest car company that is
    still producing cars.
    buick and cadillac came right after ford

    The oldest company that currently manufactures cars is possibly Peugeot, founded in 1810. But they didn't start making cars until 1891.

Before that, Daimler-Benz was two independent companies: Daimer and Benz. In 1926 German banks forced the merger of the two companies for purely financial reasons.
