Like Cardiff City, Southend have had a winding up order adjourned for 28 days. Southend are disputing the amount owed to the taxman, but according to HM Revenue and Customs they owe £200,000. Ron Martin says the figure is wrong because they paid more than they should have done when paying off a previous debt in November. If the Essex club fails to come to an agreement, it could enter administration and face a ten point penalty deduction.
