  5. I would think they saw Mother cows (as well as mother goats, dogs, cats, kittens, etc) feeding their young - and of course back in the day that is exclusively how humans fed their young. They were thinking - hmm. . . a supply of milk to feed my young - and me!  Lets keep a cow for that.
