  2. Better question, who were the speculators?  Let's drill now for our future, let's build refineries now for the future of our children.  Let's show the speculators that we mean to become oil independent while we are researching alternatives.

  3. What was the price of gas when JFK went into office as compare to the price of coffee at Starbucks?

It doesn't matter the President of the United States doesn't have a dial in his office to set the price of gas.

It also doesn't matter because Bush can't go for a third term.

The factors of the high price of gas to consider:

One a weak dollar because mortgage companies gave loans to people who should never have them in the first place when time to pay the piper that took the dollar down.  That wasn't Bush's fault.

People don't want to drill of the coast or build refineries thus limiting supply.

People driving the big SUVs like the god of Global Warming Al Gore and increase of demand.

Speculators who are betting we are not going to go after the oil reserves we got.

In short we all have hand in the higher price of gas.

I just know that if Obama has his way it will go even higher when he wants to raise the taxes on oil companies that sure as heck won't lower them.

So before you whine about high oil prices look in the mirror and own up to your part before you start blaming others.

  4. It does not matter.

Everyone wants to give credit/blame for the economy to the president. But there is one major flaw with that-the president does not control the nations budget, congress does.

Look to congress to blame for your high gas prices.

  5. Why, you got a time Machine, or just like living in the past....

Your logic is a bit flawed in blaming the president for the oil prices. I guess you are a front man for the Arabs wanting to keep the monkey off their backs.

WE could blame Billy Fred for the Stock market debacle using your logic, then we would be able to show why we shouldn't vote for O Bama. Stocks were artificially inflated toward the end of the Billy Fred Administration, Companies claimed to be worth more on paper than they were so when the next administration took over the facts were produced and the stock prices took a nose dive. So lets blame that on Billy Fred And Algore.

Edit; The Congress IS in control, not the Pres. or VP. When the gas went up was when the Demo's took control of the House.

  6. $1.15 now $4.15
