Question:

What was the purpose for the Cubs trading for Harden? Was it to pitch a great 5-6 innings and not get a win?

Carbon copy of yesterday's game. Didn't understand the early hook? If he's not going to pitch much, throw him in the bullpen! (sarcasm)

  1. I think injury prone or not they are babying him WAY too much. He didn't even throw 90 pitches today. I bet Harden was even thinking COME ON leave me in.

  2. I agree 100%. I come from a different era when pitchers were sent out with the idea of going the distance. This 5 and 6 innings c**p rubs me the wrong way.

  3. GO BREWERS

  4. dont say its because they want him off the DL, harden has never been able to go more than 6 innings, he is a strikeout pitcher and threw 87 pitches today.  With the cubs' bullpen, they really shouldve traded for a pitcher who can go late into the game.  Harden is going to leave half the game to the bullpen and tire them out for the next games, a real bad cycle.  Not to mention hes only faced san francisco, arizona, and florida.  Its not like hes faced any real offensive teams.  When he faces the brewers or cardinals, cubs fans will finally realize what harden is doing to their team.

  5. It was a stupid trade. Gallagher is a better pitcher and will be for a longer time than Harden will be. If you can't go more than five innings, maybe the bullpen would be better?

  6. Does Rich Harden have a better chance of helping the Cubs get to the playoffs pitching 6 innings or on the DL?  They're using him safely to try and keep him from making a trip to the DL which he has an obvious history of doing.

  7. I was there and they announced a new pitcher and everybody was kinda like.... "Huh?"

    Why was he taken out?

Couldnt have been over 100 pitches...

  8. the cubs recently have had bad luck deyve been hittin around .220 since beginning july that bad luck will even out and turn intogood luck chill bro cuz dat 5 innings pitches will be valuable

so wud u rather have rich harden or rich hill starting?

  9. If the Cubs score 3 runs in each of the last two games and Marmol doesn't have his worst game since converting from a catcher Harden would be 3-0 not 0-1.

  10. They got him because the Cubs panicked when they saw the Brewers get Sabathia. Harden's had injury problems in the past so I think it's smart for the Cubs to not push it with him. If anybody knows about young pitcher injuries it's the Cubs. Plus you want to save him for the playoffs if need be.
