  5. Let's get one thing straight before we begin...

    Race is a cultural designation, not a biological one.  End of story.  It has no biological root whatsoever.  Stop using that term!  Try "ancestral population" or "ethnicity" or even "gene pool" if you're trying to be strictly physiological.  

    It's possible, if you're speaking of the sub-continent, that the first Indians were Dravidian.  As far as we can tell, the Indus River Valley civilization takes the cake for the oldest known evidence of evolved habitations.  However, consider also the Berber tribes.  They were nomadic and so left no cities for us to unearth.  Also, Sanskrit, the written language is an evolved textual form of the verbal Berber, now a dead language.  

    If you're speaking of North American Native Americans that's an entirely different story with many a blind turn and paths not taken.
