Scuba diving at night off the Channel Islands. My dive buddy got entangled in kelp not long after we found out other divers had sighted a Great White Shark. Getting him loose and going back to the boat was the scariest part of my life.

last night, i thought i heard the boogey man messing around again in my closet.

My best friend and i were backpacking around the country and we ended up getting lost in the back streets of Miami. Nobody spoke any english and we spoke very little spanish. Those that DID speak to us, muttered incoherently to themselves and several people told us we were as good as dead looking the way we did, (two young white kids with a lot of junk on their backs and me being female. ) We were lost for about three days, our phones dead and barely any cash on us. We slept in parks, if you could call it sleeping, on top of our stuff for two nights. Finally we ended up in a broken down hotel that was infested with roaches for 40 bucks a night. We stayed in the room and i dialed my folks, grudgingly asking for a bus fare back home. But the entire time we stayed there, there must've been some drug deal-gone-wrong in the room next to us cuz we heard screaming all night and some guy cursing and banging on the walls.

THAT was definately the scariest WEEK of my life. (I know it says night but there was a few nights in there so i figured it was legit.)

The night I questioned my salvation.

i was at a friends house and i went into her kitchen to get some snacks. and she has a long, pitch dark, hallway that turns. at the end there is 3 bedrooms. when i went to the cabinet to get some chips i heard the sound of feet scraping the carpet like somebody was walking. i ran back to the living room and told my friend. we walked back to the kitchen and inspected everything. when i told her it was in one of the back rooms, she grabbed my hand and said "on the count of 3 we run to the end of the hallway and flip the light on". as soon as she said "2" we both heard the noise at the end of the hallway. we screamed and ran back to the living room and jumped behind the couch she started frantically calling neibors. when she finally got somebody on the phone, we burst into tears and the lady she called came over to inspect the house with us. when we were inspecting the back rooms, we heard a something bang downstairs. we checked every nook and cranny of the house but did not find anybody or anything wrong.to this day we still dont know what it was. (now whenever i am at her house alone like that, we turn alot of lights on and stay put in the living room)

on Canada day, in Edmonton,AB in the Mill Woods area, while there were a grand finale fireworks we witnessed a stabbing!

Okay, this one time I went to camp. And the camp leaders told us that we were going to go for a 3 mile walk during the night. So of course we all bought flashlights. And so we started off on our walk and we came to this very old church. It was last used in the early 1930's. And it had a lot of bullet holes through it. Because of some war that broke out near where I live. And so we walked into the church and there was no electricity, because the church was so old. And we all sat down on the church seats and the camp leaders were telling us all about the church. It was just creepy from the beginning, I don't know why I guess because it was so old. So we all walked outside of the church and we were all just curious to see what the temple looked like. So we shined our flashlights up on the temple and there was this girl standing there with a long white dress. It kind of looked like a wedding dress. We all screamed our heads off. Then the camp leaders were like lets get out of here. Then as we were waling away from the church this guy in this old looking truck pulled up and was like, "Get out of here, this church belongs to the devil." And the guy just gave me the creeps. The camp leaders just told us to ingore him, and we walked back to the cabin. Where none of us could sleep, because we just kept on thinking about seeing the spirit or whatever it was. Then later after we left camp, I went home and immetily  got on the computer. I started to do some research on that church. And I was reading storys of when other people has visted there. And every single person that wrote a story about it saw the exact same girl that we saw. The story behing that girl is that back in the late 1800's there was this couple, that wanted to get married there. So on their wedding day, this girl changed her mind on getting married. But her parents really wanted her to marry this guy. But she new that he just wasen't the one and that her parents would keep bugging her about it. So she decieded that she did not want to live anymore, and commited sucide off the temple. So now she haunts the church. And I will never ever forget that day. It was so scary and I never want to go back there again.

I was 6 yrs old and we had just moved  into a new house.  I went to bed that first night. Then I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the door to my closet open. I was too terrified to move and just laid there the rest of the night, staring at the closet. When morning came, I could see that there wasn't anything there, but that was definitely my scariest night.
