What was the true reason for the Boston Tea Party?

I agree that it was taxation without representation.

What I want is the true historical reasons behind the Revolutionary War.

  1. To free themselves from Great Britain and win independance.


  2. to rebel against Britain!  Stoping the tea tax and showing them that we would not stand for their c**p!  And that, is what made us the Great Country we are today!

  5. They had been pushed to the brink. The taxation without representation was the straw that brok the camel's back. Then a group of punks went out, disguised as Native Americans, and dumped the tea. No commodities, no taxes on those commodities. And that sparked the revolution, and you know what happened from there.

  6. The colonists wanted freedom from the British throne, since the King was a bit of a tyrant.  This was the main reason for the American Revolution; though I think it was silly of them to waste all that perfectly good tea.
