  1. Graduating from high school less than three months ago at pretty much last in my class. I almost didn't graduate and had to do a bunch of work just to make it by with the minimum number of credits at a 2.1

I'm, pardon the lack of modesty (modesty is a sham anyway more often than not), very intelligent and capable. Yet I really struggled in high school and just didn't know what to do. I couldn't get myself to care. I had a really hard time making friends, couldn't get out of bed in the morning -my mom had to drag me. I'm not a flake or anything, I'm a really good guy. It just wasn't clicking for me.

So, I graduated from high school and immediately went to a community college (I live in CA). For some reason I had the complete turn around that everybody told me wouldn't happen. You have to create good habits, work it up over time, doesn't happen overnight, etc...and they're right. I know that. Yet, regardless, overnight I cared. I was free of high school and had a fresh slate. I took sixteen units over the summer (a lot to take in six weeks!) and got my first A's in five years.

This semester I'm running for senate (and have all but been ratified), I joined the speech team, I'm getting an internship with my congressman, I'm doing really well in school and taking 31 units and an honors student. I'm getting along really well with people too and just so many other things came into place.

I don't really know what clicked, but it did. I'm sorry I kinda told you a narrative, but, again, those are often the good answers in comparison to a sentence or two summary.

So, again, that was really really big for me. I've always really believed in myself and I want to achieve great, great things....but even that confidence started to waver when I couldn't even pass classes that I was the best in without even trying or opening the book. A major turning point in my young life, I'm very happy with it.

  4. My Hair

  5. When I had a moment of clarity concerning my drinking/using. I've been clean and sober over three years now. It's amazing to live two lives in one lifetime!

As the result of taking the 12 steps, I have had a personality change sufficent to bring about recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction!

  6. Most likely it's when I just finished the 8th grade, I'm going to middle school, most of my friends have changed drastically and some of them moved away. It made me finally realize change is something that can't be avoided and you have to grow up eventually.

  7. When I realized I'm not right in the head. It was a great eye opener that I am so enlightened now.
