I missed a communion for Darlington then my driver gets taken out on the second lap. lol Wouldn't have missed it if I knew he would anyway. When I was still in school, I would stay home on rain delays and took some days off from work. I'm a die-hard. Feel bad about the communion but you all know how it is.

  1. Nothing really important-just some in law stuff-birthdays mostly. But my wife gets upset when I tell the kids "Do not speak to me for four hours!" And I mean seriously and literally.

  2. playing outside on a nice summer day

  3. I missed my college final exam for a race last year that was rain delayed ended up failing the class and retaking the course .......

  4. i missed my best friends boyfriends funeral because i had tickets to go to the California race and ended up my 2nd favorite driver won went to school the next day and she didn't talk to me we haven't talk since lol

  5. i can't remember - i was paying attention to the race... now, shhhhhh...i'm trying to watch speedtv

    ;-)

wait, i kinda miss my ex-girlfriend...she had to go because she used to talk during the races...  last thing i heard her say that day was, "it's me or nascar."  next thing she knew she was "boogity boogity boogity"ing it right out the door.

    ;-)

  6. i skipped my parents renewing their vows on their 25th anniversary to watch a bristol race get rained out. they rescheduled it the next day and that day i stayed off work to watch it and my least favorite driver won and i got fired to top it off. im now in a building with no walls

  7. driving to Loudon NH to watch the race

live with my brothers. [i opted to watch it on

    TV]. yup, i'm a wimp.

  8. I used to miss everything my girlfriend wanted to do on Sundays. Funny, she's gone and NASCAR is still on.

  9. I'm life is boring as well, so I don't have to come up with excuses to watch races.  My mom hates it when I put on a race during a family gathering, though. I don't see the big deal. My brother does it for football.

I'm not sure this answer is in keeping with the question, but if it's about what we NASCAR fans do for the love of the sport... I called in late to work when Dale Jr. was holding his news conference.  I called my boss and told her.  Thankfully, she was real understanding about it.  She knows I'm a huge Jr. fan, what with all the Jr. pics and cars on my desk. :-)  So I got to stay home and hoot and holler at Jr. joining HMS. Not so much because my two faves were not teammates but because I was happy he was going to a strong organization.

  10. Before I moved to NC I was working 2 full time jobs.  I was an ACSM in retail on evenings and weekends and substitute taught on weekdays.  Sometimes, I'd have to call the evening job and tell them I'd be late due to subbing.  Well, one day (can't remember which race) last year, I told my subbing coordinator that I couldn't sub and called the evening job to tell them I'd be late due to subbing.  I stayed home and watched the race (it was a rain delay on Monday).

I also left my cousin's wedding reception after less than an hour to make it home for Richmond in September 06.  Kasey was on the Chase bubble and I COULD NOT miss it.  My dad and I both snuck out.

  11. I hate to admit this, but my life is pretty boring, so I usually have nothing spectacular planned anyway, so there's nothing to miss, kinda sad, really.

  12. I used to call in sick to work on sundays to watch races.  And saturday night races, too.

There was once a rain delay on a saturday night, and it caused me to sleep in from church (9:30 service).

  13. A date with a real good looking woman. It was the night race at Daytona, (I think it was still the Pepsi 400 then). I was getting ready to go out the door, and realized it was NASCAR night. Needless to say I never saw her again. Oops, my bad. She wasn't a NASCAR fan anyways, it wouldn't have worked out

  14. I've never done anything to go watch a race, although I did call in sick over the Christmas to New Year's holidays in 1997 to get my car together to go to an indoor off-road race (my first as a driver).  The bad thing about doing that.....was that I actually WAS sick.  Working on a race car in a semi-heated garage isn't real fun.  Luckily, I didn't do good enough to make it on the highlights that were on TV!!!  I think I might have gotten busted for that one!!!

  15. Arghhh...I have a graduation to go to this Sat. night, and I am seriously thinking about skipping it. Does that count?!
