What was this all about....

We show up to work an hour and a half before we open to prepare. Well, my manager comes out and asks my supervisor (loud enough for me to hear) when one of my co-workers called in did she sound sick. I know he knows how to whisper b/c he does it all the time with my supervisor and another lady. As a matter of fact, they were whispering the other day and when I walked by to get something they stopped. Why would he even ask that question. If you sound "sick" aren't you sort of laying it on a little thick unless you have a cold or something. Besides why would he say it loud enough for me to hear. I didn't want to hear that; I am upset!!!

  1. You are upset to hear that, he is letting everyone know that he is no clown and if you lie to him everyone is going to know it.

You need to not worry about others only yourself and do the best job you know how!

  2. The manager probably wanted to engage you in the conversation without asking your opinion. Which would be very inappropriate.

If you over hear a conversation and but in by your own choice the manager cannot get in trouble because even though he said it loud he did not say it to you.

The Manager was obviously fishing and maybe thought you had an insight as to weather or not your coworker called in for some other reason.

  3. Relax!  They weren't talking about you, you were doing your job like you were supposed to, it's none of your business, even if they did say it so that you clearly heard it.  Let it go.  If you stress over stuff like this to the level you're doing, you'll give yourself an ulcer, and who really needs that?  Ignore and move on.

  4. Your upset over that.......you really have a thin skin don't you. It had nothing to do with you so you shouldn't even think twice about it.
