This is baby #3 for me- So I'm no stranger to labor, false labor and Braxton Hicks!!

For almost 2 hours this morning I had incredible pain in my UPPER uterus, pressure on my cervix, and pain in the middle of my back, but no contractions. An hour into this, I had 3 contractions, then they stopped. A few minutes later, baby was ferociously moving around for 15 minutes and stopped. The rest of the day, the baby's movement was normal and I felt OK- the top of my uterus is really sore now, but that's it. What in the world was going on in there? The baby has been head down for weeks now. Is it possible it got itself in a breech position and got stuck? This was definitely NOT bh contractions- I've had those regularly since 22 wks.

  1. I would call your doctor and have him check you..

    Tell him what you felt..

Or maybe your baby was just moving around and cause that pain..

  2. I'm thinking he flipped. Bring it up with your obgyn at your next appt.

  3. I could very well be contractions.  I had contractions and didnt even know it.  When I went to the hospital they said I wasnt having them and within 3 hours I was back at the hospital in active labor.  What happened was I was having labor pains in my back thats why they were not showing up on the machine.  Congrats

  4. Has the shape of your belly changed? Mine did when my son flipped around, not so much with my daughter though. Is there anyway to get a scan to see what's going on in there? I would want to check out anything that hurts me. BH may change as you get further in your pregnancy as well, so keep that in mind as well.

  5. I would contact your dr or go to the hospital to be checked out. It could be nothing or it could be abnormal uterine contractions. I know you say that they are not contractions really or BH but some women have what is called back labor. The pain in the upper uterus could also be caused by placental separations. No matter what. Talk to a DR, they will be the best advice you can get since they know you and your history.
