Washington DC had a different name apparently for a short time while JFK was in office, it had something to do with the middle ages, what was it?

  1. It was Washington DC or the District of Columbia.  The era in which he was president they called it "Camelot" as a nickname.


  2. HUH?  It's been Washington, DC.

I believe you're referring to the term "Camelot".  During the early years of his term in office, some folks referred to his administration and his White House as "Camelot", pointing back to the days of King Arthur.  It was at the same time as the Broadway smash by the name of Camelot, which told the story of a young king Arthur attempting to forge a reign of peace and prosperity for England.

    Washington, DC was never known by this term, however.
