Gene Keidel's wife DiAnne disappeared in September of 1966. Two of his four children were killed in a house fire. In 1993 (nearly 3 decades later), Keidel's daughter Lori uncovers a dark violent family secret from her childhood years. When Lori was 5, watched her father beat her mother into submission and buried her body in the backyard (not knowing that he killed her and disposed of her body). Months after her mother disappeared, her two older sisters (ages 12 and 8) died in the house fire, and that her older brother (age 9) also survived as well as she. She learns that mother and her two sisters were murdered, and that her father was responsible for their deaths. Her father became a killer.

Was it the failing marriage (as a result of his wife having an affair) that drove him to madness? Or was he a philander and psychopath?

  1. I lived across the street from Gene and I can tell you that he was a psychopath, I think that he fully intended on killing all of he children because they were starting to suspect him of killing their mother, Gene and his wife were legally separated when she was killed, alcohol played a big part in their problems, as I can tell you he drank heavily, after the fire he moved back into that house, remarried and adopted a son, and lived there for another 10 years before moving out.

While this is not on topic, the house turned into a rental property after it had been sold and I never knew anyone to live in that house for more than about 6 months, several off the tenants that moved into that house said that it was haunted, that sometimes when they would be in the hall bathroom that they would see two young girls in the mirror, and strangely enough that is where Lori's sisters had died, and thanks to Lori's oldest sister she survived only because her sister protected her with her body.
