Of course you're familiar with The Pushy Paw. It's the single-pawed gesture, applied to your person with varying degrees of pressure, that means, "hey you - I want your attention."

Buddy Magnifico applied The Pushy Paw this morning. I was under the impression that I had only committed to rubbing his head for 10 minutes. Apparently, I was mistaken, as he was quick to point out.

  1. treats haha

  2. All you get is a paw?  Lucky you!  My husband gets 9 pounds of hungry kitty jumping on his belly, and I get 10 more pounds leaping over me and bouncing the bed.

All in the name of "FEED ME!"

I once found a really cute lol - it was a closeup of a cat saying "uawakeuawakeuawakeuawakeuawake?  Oh, you're awake!  My fud bowl is empty!"  But drat, I can't find it now.

  3. Attention. Food. Now.

  4. With mine it usually means "hey get off the couch and find all toys I hid so I can play some more!"

  5. a rubdown and a snack (just like hubby lol)

  6. it depends on what the cat likes my cat gives it to me when i forget to give her her nightly treat and my old cat would do it for attention or so i new he wanted to play

also it might be a sign that he doesn't want any more attention and he wants to go to sleep

  7. Yes they are wanting more rubbing / attention.

I get it from my male ... he walks all over the bed chasing me while I am trying to get ready for work... with one paw out/ claws extended.

if I come close he pushes me and then sinks in the claws... like kneeding...

Annoying when I am watching tv but I love it anyway.

  8. The Cats of Destiny apply the Pushy Paw on a regular basis.  Willie does it to tell me to turn on the bathroom sink, accompanied with a pitiful little mew to imply that I've been neglectful in providing water to the poor creature.

Waylon gives me The Paw when I am in the recliner and he wants to sit on the blanket, in between my knees, and I haven't accommodated him in a timely manner.

They both give us a version of The Pushy Paw, which we call "The Blessing".  When they are on one of the tall platforms of their 7' cat condo and we stop, at eye level with them, they place a gentle paw on our foreheads, as if to say "bless you, my human".
