  1. We encountered a bad experience..at the other end..we finished our papers in US so quick and  passed to the specific country that we are trying to adopt the child..the Adoption Board said that " we defer the papers because there is no bonding with the adopties"..how can we bond ?they are holding the papers too long that the baby is growing up..

  2. I have a wonderful experience adopting my son from Guatemala.  Right now Guatemala's process is under US restrictions.

Was there something in particular you were wanting answered or just a generic "how was it?"

  3. I have a 3 year old daughter, almost 4, that I adopted at age 2 from China, and a son aged 8 1/2 adopted this august from China. Both are special needs adoptions. I also own and run a website called Informed Adoption Advocates at http://informedadoptions.com that specifically deals with information about international adoptions. I am an adult adoptee-lite (meaning I was raised by extended family, not by complete strangers as in traditional adoption) but not by international adoption.

I am not sure what type of information you are looking for though?

  4. We have two adopted sons both from Guatemala. Our youngest having came home within the last month. Our experience with both adoptions was wonderful. They key in my opinion is to pick your agency very carefully. That makes all the difference in the world. Also, be very dilligent in your paperwork.

It is the two most amazing things I have ever done.

  5. My parents (mom and stepdad) decided they wanted to have children (she can't anymore and he never has had any).

They prayed about it a lot then, decided to adopt from China. The first process took nearly 2 years, from decision to delivery. It was complicated and long, but so worth it!

After that success, they decided to try again. They were in a time crunch for age restrictions in China. However, they went with a special needs boy this time. That process didn't take quite as long, maybe a year and a half, or so.

Both kids are adjusting amazingly well and my parents are so glad they have their children home. It's been an amazing process!
