What was your fave board game whilst growing up?

Mine was snakes and ladders. Now has a grown up it's scrabble.

  1. Absolutely loved Monopoly.  Game of Life came in second.  with Clue in the third spot.

    There's just something very satisfying about building all those hotels and charging the other plays those insane rents =D

    Also taught me to lose well.

  10. Even as a little kid, I loved Axis and Allies. I guess I was a dork, or more into world domination than kids games. I never was very childish.

I had two, they were Kerplunk (still play with my daughter on my old set!!) and the other was called something like hanging monkeys, you had to get the monkeys from top to bottom on pegs without them falling (you only had two pegs each and the board was two sheets of plastic with holes in and you slid the monkeys in the top between them, does anyone else remember it??)

  18. monopoly - just in case us children somehow forgot how to argue and battleships - less opportunity for arguments as there were only two players, but more opportunity to cheat

  19. It was the Mad Magazine board game - it was so silly and dumb, and my sister and I used to play it ALL the time. I wish I still had it!
