  1. Sorry cant give you just one...I love to read and have since I can remember...all of my children have had a little bit different pattern of book loves ...

my son (now 28) loved the curious george books, then the boxcar children, then mostly science fiction books...He started reading when he was three....

my oldest daughter (now 26) favored the stan and jan bernstein(sp) series the bearnstein bears (mom, dad, brother, and sister and all of their friends and families) they were just like our family, and had over 30 books when she was small, she then moved on to a variety of books but mostly loved magazines.....

my youngest daughter (now 19) also began reading at age 3.....she liked all of the books her brother and sister liked and was especially in love with goodnight moon, the eric carle books(very hungry caterpillar, very busy spider, etc) also loved the dr. seuss books (hop on pop, ten apples up on top, put me in the zoo, etc)...and then moved on to sweet valley twins, r. l. stein--goosebumps, and then on to science fiction and fantasy...now loves to read john grisham, dean koontz, and almost any book she can get her hands on..

when they were all young their favorite books to listen to were....charlottes web, charlie and the chocolate factory, the boxcar children, and lots and lots of other books....

as a teacher my favorite books to read in class are anything by eric carle, stone soup, rainbow fish(the original one), and almost any book that shows how different but the same the world is today...(there is a whole series of books called ....bread, bread, bread....hats, hats, hats....houses, etc they have actual photos of these items from all over the world and allows a teacher to then jump off to have a tasting experience and other activities to do in class....and be sure to check out your local library...and the series of books called "story stretchers" they also have a lot of ideas...
